Battery Boost Resistor Replacement (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2)

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the generator battery carrier.
2. Remove the generator battery carrier cover.
3. Disconnect the appropriate battery resistor electrical connector (1).




4. Remove the appropriate battery power cable nut (4) and cable (5).
5. Remove the appropriate battery resistor connector (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the appropriate battery resistor connector (2) over the stud (3) on the battery.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the appropriate battery power cable (5) and nut (4).

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




3. Connect the appropriate battery resistor electrical connector (1).
4. Install the generator battery carrier cover.
