Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LLY)

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.

Caution: To avoid being burned, do not remove the radiator cap or surge tank cap while the engine is hot. The cooling system will release scalding fluid and steam under pressure if radiator cap or surge tank cap is removed while the engine and radiator are still hot.

2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Using J 38185, reposition the radiator inlet hose clamps.




4. Remove the radiator hose from the radiator.




5. Remove the radiator hose from the engine.

Installation Procedure





Important: Lubricate the inside diameters of the hoses with clean coolant prior to installation.

1. Install the radiator inlet hose to the engine.




2. Install the radiator inlet hose to the radiator.
3. Using J 38185, reposition the radiator inlet hose clamps.
4. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
5. Fill the cooling system.
6. Leak test the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Leak Testing.
