Fuel Hose/Pipes Replacement - Chassis (Front)

Removal Procedure






Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (With CH 48027) Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH 48027).
3. Disconnect the fuel feed and return pipes from the engine compartment fuel pipes.
4. Remove the fuel pipes from the bellhousing stud retainer clip.
5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
6. Disconnect the chassis fuel return pipe at the rear fuel return pipe.
7. Remove the fuel pipe retaining clips. Note the location of the retaining clips for installation.
8. Remove the fuel feed and return pipes.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the fuel feed and return pipes in the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the fuel pipe retaining clips (1).

Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

3. Connect the chassis fuel return pipe to the rear fuel return pipe.
4. Lower the vehicle.




5. Connect the fuel feed and return pipes to the engine compartment fuel pipes.
Ensure the O-rings are in place.

Tighten the fuel pipe fittings to 27 N.m (20 lb ft) using a backup wrench.

6. Install the fuel pipes to the retainer clip.

Tighten the fuel pipe retainer clip nut to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

7. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
9. Inspect for leaks:

1. Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds.
2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
3. Turn ON the ignition.
4. Inspect for fuel leaks.

10. Install the engine cover.
