Wiper Motor Replacement



WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
- J 39232 Wiper Linkage Separator
- J 39529 Wiper Linkage Installer

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the wiper motor module (5).




2. Using the J 39232, disconnect the transmission linkage (1) from the wiper motor crank arm (5).
3. Remove the wiper motor crank arm nut (4) and crank arm (5).
4. Remove the wiper motor screws (3).
5. Remove the wiper motor from the module assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the wiper motor to the module assembly.

IMPORTANT: A new wiper motor will be shipped in the parked position.

2. Install the motor to module screws.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the motor screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in).




3. Position the crank arm (5) to the wiper motor pivot shaft. Ensure the arm resides between the 2 casting dimples (2) as shown.
4. Install the crank arm pivot nut (4).

Tighten the pivot nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

5. Using the J 39529, secure the transmission link (1) to the wiper crank arm (5).




6. Position the module assembly to the lower plenum. Refer to Wiper Motor Module Replacement.




7. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the wiper motor (1).
8. Inspect the front wiper system operation.
