Lock Cylinder Replacement - Rear Door (Liftgate)

Removal Procedure

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove liftgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the liftgate handle molding. Refer to Handle Replacement - Liftgate (Service and Repair) .




4. Remove the nuts from the lock cylinder .




5. Disconnect electrical connector, if equipped.
6. Disconnect the lock rod from the cylinder.
7. Remove the lock cylinder from the liftgate.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the lock cylinder to the liftgate.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the liftgate lock cylinder retaining nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Attach the lock rod to the key cylinder.




4. Connect the electrical connector, if equipped.
5. Attach the lock rod to the latch.
6. Install the liftgate handle molding. Refer to Handle Replacement - Liftgate (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (Service and Repair) .
8. Close the liftgate.
