B1292
DTC B1292
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The power sliding door control module (PSDM) supplies the power and ground to operate the power sliding door (PSD) motor and clutch. The direction of the motor rotation is determined by which of the control circuits is supplied 12 volts and which is grounded. The PSDM varies the current flow through the motor ground circuit to control the speed of the motor as necessary. The clutch enables the PSD to be operated manually when de-energized, or by the motor when energized.
DTC DESCRIPTOR
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC B1292 Power Sliding Door Motor Control Circuit
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
A PSD open or close function is attempted.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
The following failures to the PSD motor Open or Close control circuit will set the DTC:
- Open
- Short to ground
- Short to voltage
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
- The PSDM will attempt to operate the door and stop if the condition is current.
- The PSDM sets a DTC B1292.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
When the condition is no longer present and the DTC is cleared with the scan tool.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
- Inspect the PSDM and PSD motor pigtail harness and connector terminals for damage.
- Inspect the clutch pigtail harness and connector terminals for damage.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Step 1 - Step 6:
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. Tests the ability of the PSDM to provide power and ground to operate the PSD motor.
6. The motor and clutch assembly are packaged as an assembly and are not serviced separately.
