Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.




2. Remove the lock cylinder latch plate cover. Refer to Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid) .
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.




4. Release the tension on the latch cables. Refer to Latch Release Cable Adjustment RT/LT - Rear Compartment Lid (Adjustments) .




5. Remove the latch release cables (1, 2) from the lock cylinder latch plate assembly.
6. Remove the latch release handle cable (3) from the lock cylinder latch plate assembly.
7. Remove the lock cylinder latch plate fasteners.
8. Remove the lock cylinder latch plate from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the lock cylinder latch plate assembly to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the lock cylinder latch plate fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (88 lb in).





3. Install the latch release handle cable (3) to the lock cylinder latch plate assembly.
4. Install the latch release cables (1, 2) to the lock cylinder latch plate assembly.
5. Set the latch cable adjustment. Refer to Latch Release Cable Adjustment RT/LT - Rear Compartment Lid (Adjustments) .
6. Connect the electrical connectors.
7. Install the lock cylinder latch plate cover. Refer to Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid) .
8. Lower the vehicle.
