Door Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the harness grommet from the hinge pillar.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
4. Remove the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
5. Remove the front fender. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.




6. Mark the location of the door hinges on the hinge pillar.
7. Support the door.
8. Remove the bolts attaching the door hinges to the hinge pillar.
9. Remove the door from the vehicle.
10. If replacing the door, remove the following parts:

* The door handle bezel - Refer to Door Handle Bezel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* Pull handle replacement - Refer to Pull Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* The door trim handle - Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The water deflector - Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
* The door hinges - Refer to Hinge Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The check link - Refer to Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* The inside door handle - Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Inside (Service and Repair) .
* The lock cylinder - Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The door latch - Refer to Latch Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The door wiring harness - Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
* The door window - Refer to Window Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The window regulator - Refer to Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* The window belt outer sealing strip - Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer (Service and Repair) .
* The door weatherstrip - Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The power mirrors - Refer to Mirror Replacement - Power (Mirror Replacement - Power) .




Installation Procedure

1. If replacing the door, install the following parts:

* The door handle bezel - Refer to Door Handle Bezel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* Pull handle replacement - Refer to Pull Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* The door trim handle - Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The water deflector - Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
* The door hinges - Refer to Hinge Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The check link - Refer to Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* The inside door handle -Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Inside (Service and Repair) .
* The lock cylinder - Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The door latch - Refer to Latch Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The door wiring harness - Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
* The door window - Refer to Window Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The window regulator - Refer to Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* The window belt outer sealing strip - Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer (Service and Repair) .
* The door weatherstrip - Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
* The power mirrors - Refer to Mirror Replacement - Power (Mirror Replacement - Power) .





2. Position the door to the opening aligning the door hinges to the marks.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the bolts attaching the door hinges to the hinge pillar.

Tighten the door hinge to hinge pillar bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the front fender. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
5. Install the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
6. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.




7. Connect the harness electrical connectors.
8. Install the harness grommet into the hinge pillar aligning the depth mark with the edge of the opening in the hinge pillar.
9. Adjust the door as necessary.
10. Adjust the door window as necessary.
