Door Check Link Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the side front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the front water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .




3. Remove the fastener that retains the door check link to the pillar.




4. Remove the rubber dust boot from the door check link in order to gain access to the door retaining fasteners.




5. Remove the door check link retaining fasteners from the door.
6. Remove the door check link assembly through the door access hole.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the door check link assembly through the door access hole. Ensure that the position arrow is pointing forward.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the door check link retaining fasteners to the door.

Tighten the fasteners to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).





3. Install the rubber dust boot to the door check link.




4. Install the fastener that retains the door check link to the pillar.

Tighten the fastener to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

5. Pull back the front water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the side front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
