Auxiliary Blower Motor Replacement (without E59)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the accessory panel.
2. Remove the screws from the hinged cover.
3. Remove the cover from the rear trim panel.
4. Release the tabs and pull out the trim panel.
5. Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor resistor electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the auxiliary air temperature actuator electrical connector.
8. Remove the auxiliary blower motor mounting screws.
9. Remove the auxiliary blower motor from the blower motor housing.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the auxiliary blower motor to the blower motor housing.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
2. Install the auxiliary blower motor mounting screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 Nm (14 lb in).
3. Connect the auxiliary air temperature actuator electrical connector.
4. Connect the auxiliary blower motor resistor electrical connector.
5. Connect the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector.
6. Install the trim panel and press firmly into the tabs.
7. Align the cover and fasten the screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).
8. Install the accessory panel.
