Wiper Arm Replacement (Passenger Side)

WIPER ARM REPLACEMENT (PASSENGER SIDE)

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39637 Wiper Arm Puller

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Open and support the hood.
2. Disconnect the wiper arm hose (4) from the front washer pump jumper hose.
3. Remove the finish cap (1).
4. Remove the wiper arm nut (2) to pivot shaft.




5. Using the J 39637, release the wiper arm from the pivot shaft.




6. Remove the blade from the arm.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the wiper blade to the arm.
2. Position the wiper arm to the wiper arm pivot shaft.




3. Align the top edge of the passenger side blade to the top edge of the solid blackout. The distance should be 123 mm (4.84 in) (a).




4. Secure the wiper arm to the pivot shaft.
5. Install the wiper arm nut (2).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: Hold the wiper arm into position while tightening the nut.

Tighten the nut to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).

6. Install the nut finish cover (1).
7. Connect the washer hose (4). The hose is positioned counterclockwise around the end of the wiper arm.
8. Close the hood.
9. Inspect the operation of the wiper system.
