- The turbocharger exhaust pipe does not need to be removed from the vehicle in order to access the right exhaust pipe. Position the turbocharger exhaust pipe out of the way.
2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler tube nuts, from the studs (1).

3. Remove the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold bolts (1).
4. Remove the exhaust pipe to the turbocharger bolts (2).

Installation Procedure

Important: Position the exhaust pipe gaskets with the tabs as shown. Failure to do so will cause improper alignment of the gaskets and result in exhaust leaks.

1. Install the right exhaust pipe with a NEW gasket to the turbocharger. Align the gasket at the turbocharger with the tab on the gasket facing inward.
2. Install the right exhaust pipe with a NEW gasket to the exhaust manifold. Align the gasket at the exhaust manifold with the tabs on the gasket facing downward.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the exhaust pipe to turbocharger bolts (2). Tighten the bolts to 53 Nm (39 lb ft).

4. Install the right exhaust pipe with a NEW gasket to the exhaust manifold. Align the gasket at the exhaust manifold with the tab on the gasket facing downward.
5. Install the exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold bolts (1). Tighten the bolts to 53 Nm (39 lb ft).
