Door Handle Sticks Out, Door Will Not Latch (Lubricate Door Handle Pawl)

2004 Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx
2005 Chevrolet Equinox
Condition
Some customers may comment that the exterior door handle sticks out after opening the door, or the door will not latch when closed.
Cause
This condition may be caused by the handle not returning to the closed position.
Correction
Pull the door handle to its full open position and apply Super Lube to the top and bottom of the door handle pawl as seen in the illustration above. Cycle the handle several times and reapply lubricant, if necessary.
