Handle Replacement - Rear Door Outside

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door (Cargo Doors) (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door (Cargo Doors))Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door (E54) (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door (E54)) .
2. Use a soft-faced scraper, if needed, in order to peel the water deflector away from the door. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .




3. Remove the control rod from the outside handle.
4. Remove the outside handle nuts.
5. Remove the outside handle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the outside handle to the door.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the outside handle nuts.

Tighten the outside handle nuts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

3. Install the control rod to the outside handle through the clip.
4. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door (Cargo Doors) (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door (Cargo Doors))Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door (E54) (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door (E54)) .
