Weatherstrip Replacement - Midgate

Removal Procedure

1. Open the mid gate.




2. Lift up and hold the mid gate sliding hinge panel.
3. Slide the retaining clips (1) up to the mid gate sliding hinge panel in place.




4. Remove the pushpins (1) retaining mid gate weatherstrip mold to the body.
5. Remove the mid gate weatherstrip from the pinch-weld flange and window channel.
6. Remove the mid gate weatherstrip from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the mid gate weatherstrip to the vehicle.
2. Locate and install the mid gate weatherstrip mold to the body by installing the pushpins (1).
3. Align the paint dots (2) on the weatherstrip to the sheet metal joints of the window channel.
4. Press the weatherstrip into the mid gate window channel beginning at the alignment locations (2), and working around the window channel.
5. Press the weatherstrip onto the lower pinch-weld flange, working around the lower mid gate opening.




6. Slide the retaining clips (1) down on the sliding hinge panel to release the sliding hinge panel.
7. Close the mid gate.
