Oil Pan Replacement - Lower

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt (1).
2. Remove the oil level indicator and tube (2).
3. Remove the power steering gear.
4. Remove the front axle housing, 4WD only.
5. Drain the engine oil.
6. Remove the 2 nuts and the 8 bolts from the lower oil pan.





7. Separate the lower oil pan (2) from the upper oil pan (1).

Installation Procedure





1. Apply sealant (1) to the lower oil pan.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the lower oil pan to the upper oil pan and secure with the 8 bolts and 2 nuts.
- Tighten the bolts and nuts to 11 Nm (8.0 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the drain plug to the oil pan.
- Tighten the bolt to 35 Nm (25.5 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the front axle housing, 4WD only.
5. Install the power steering gear.





6. Install the oil level indicator and tube (2) with a new O-ring.
7. Secure with the bolt (1).
- Tighten the bolt to 11 Nm (8.0 ft. lbs.).
8. Fill engine with oil.
9. Check front wheel alignment.
