Fuel Supply Line: Service and Repair
FUEL HOSE/PIPES ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
3. Disconnect the fuel vapor hose (3) from the fuel vapor pipe at the engine compartment.
4. Disconnect the fuel return hose (4) from the fuel return pipe at the engine compartment.
5. Disconnect the fuel feed hose (1) from the fuel feed pipe at the engine compartment.
6. Disconnect the retaining clamp (2) from the fuel pipes.
7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.
8. Disconnect the fuel return hose (1) from the fuel return pipe by the fuel tank.
9. Disconnect the fuel vapor hose (2) from the fuel vapor pipe by the fuel tank.
10. Disconnect the fuel feed outlet hose from the fuel filter.
11. Disconnect the retaining clamps that secure the fuel pipes to the vehicle chassis.
12. Remove the fuel tank.
13. Remove the EVAP canister.
14. Remove the upper control arm from the right side of the rear suspension.
15. Disconnect the front driveshaft from the front differential.
16. Remove the two post catalyst oxygen sensors.
17. Remove the front exhaust pipe.
18. Remove the center support bolts for the rear driveshaft (vehicles with two piece driveshafts only), and shift the center support to the left side.
19. Remove the fuel lines.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the fuel pipes (1) to the frame of the vehicle chassis.
2. Secure the fuel pipes (1) with the retaining clamps (2).
3. Install the rear driveshaft center support.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the center support fasteners to 68 N.m (50 lb ft).
4. Install the front exhaust pipe.
5. Install the two post catalyst oxygen sensors.
6. Connect the front driveshaft to the front differential.
7. Install the right rear upper control arm.
8. Install the EVAP canister.
9. Install the fuel tank.
10. Connect the fuel return hose (1) to the fuel return pipe by the fuel tank.
11. Connect the fuel vapor hose (2) to the fuel vapor pipe by the fuel tank.
12. Connect the fuel feed outlet hose at the fuel filter.
13. Connect the fuel vapor hose (3) to the fuel vapor pipe at the engine compartment.
14. Connect the fuel return hose (4) to the fuel return pipe at the engine compartment.
15. Connect the fuel feed hose (1) to the fuel feed pipe at the engine compartment.
16. Connect the retaining clamp (2) to the fuel pipes.
17. Connect the negative battery cable.
