Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair



Window Regulator Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the side front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .




2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair.
3. Remove the door window. Refer to Window Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .




4. Disconnect the window regulator electrical connector.




5. Remove the nuts from the window regulator.
6. Remove the window regulator assembly from the door by folding both sides together.




7. Remove the regulator from the door through the opening in the door.



Installation Procedure






Important: To prevent a rattle condition, ensure the foam covered regulator cable is installed towards the outboard side of the door.


1. Install the window regulator to the door through the opening in the door.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the window regulator nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Align the window glass to the window regulator.




4. Install the bolts that hold the window to the window regulator.

Tighten the bolts to 7 N.m (61 lb in).





5. Connect the window regulator electrical connector.
6. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair.
7. Install the side front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
8. Lower the window. Inspect the operation.
