Console Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement

CONSOLE ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Open the folding top.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
3. Remove the rear upper garnish molding.
4. Remove the floor console.
5. Move the passenger seat fully forward.
6. Disconnect the negative battery cable.




7. Push the sliding latch (1) downward until fully extended, approximately 40 mm (1.6 in).




8. Remove the connector (1) from the electrical center.




9. Remove the nut (4) retaining the positive battery terminal to the electrical center.
10. Fully loosen bolts (1, 2, 3).




11. Release the 4 retaining tabs located at the top and bottom of the electrical center.
12. Remove the electrical center from the base.




13. Removal all the block connectors including (1, 2) from the electrical center base.
14. Remove the nuts retaining the electrical center base to the console bracket studs.
15. Remove the electrical center base from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the electrical center base to the vehicle.
2. Install the nuts retaining the electrical center base to the console bracket studs.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Note in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

3. Install all the block connectors including (1, 2) to the electrical center base. Ensure the connectors are fully seated.




4. Install the electrical center to the base ensuring the 4 retaining tabs are fully seated.




5. Install the nut (4) retaining the positive battery terminal to the electrical center.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

6. Tighten bolts (1, 2, 3).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).




7. Install the connector (1) to the electrical center.




8. Push the sliding latch (1) upward until fully seated, approximately 40 mm (1.6 in).
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
10. Move the passenger seat fully rearward.
11. Install the floor console.
12. Install the rear upper garnish molding.
13. Close the folding top.
