Body Accessory Compartment Replacement - Rear

BODY ACCESSORY COMPARTMENT REPLACEMENT - REAR

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Cycle the folding top to the open position.
2. Remove the upper garnish trim.
3. Remove the passenger side lock pillar trim.
4. Remove the passenger seat.
5. Remove the center console.




6. Remove all electrical connectors from the body rear accessory compartment.
7. Lift the center console bracket upward and lay the center console bracket on its side in the passenger compartment.




8. Remove the body rear compartment fasteners.




9. Remove the body rear compartment from the vehicle.
10. If replacing the body rear accessories compartment, perform steps 11-17.
11. Remove the amplifier.
12. Remove the folding top control panel module.




13. Remove the electrical connector from the daytime running lamps (DRL) resistor (2).
14. Remove the fastener (1).
15. Remove the DRL resistor from the body accessories compartment.




16. Release the locking tabs from the rear relay block (1).




17. Remove the rear relay block from the body accessories compartment.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. If replacing the body rear accessories compartment perform steps 2-7.




2. Install the rear relay block to the body accessories compartment.
3. Install the DRL resistor to the body accessories compartment.




4. Install the fastener (1).

NOTE Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

5. Install the electrical connector to the DRL resistor (2).
6. Install the folding top control panel module.
7. Install the amplifier.




8. Install the body rear compartment to the vehicle.




9. Install the body rear compartment fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the body rear compartment fasteners to 10 N.m (88 lb in).




10. Install all the electrical connectors into the body rear accessory compartment.
11. Install the center console.
12. Install the passenger seat.
13. Install the passenger side lock pillar trim.
14. Install the upper garnish trim.
15. Close the folding top.
16. Inspect the folding top for proper operation.
