Folding Top Latch Replacement - Side

Removal Procedure





1. Cycle the folding top open.
2. Remove the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement) in Interior Trim.
3. Remove the sunshade. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) in Interior Trim.
4. Remove the windshield pillar garnish. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.




5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
6. Using a grease pencil or suitable marking device, mark the location of the latch to the windshield header.




7. Disconnect the center latching motor linkage.




8. Remove the fasteners.




9. Remove the latch from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the latch to the vehicle.




2. Install the latch fasteners and hand tighten.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Align the latch to the alignment marks and tighten the fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (88 lb in).





4. Connect the electrical connector.




5. Connect the center latching motor linkage.
6. Install the windshield pillar garnish. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.
7. Install the sunshade. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) in Interior Trim.
8. Install the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement) in Interior Trim.
9. Cycle the folding top closed.
10. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation.
