Folding Top Latch Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure


Caution: When installing or removing the downstop capture latch, ensure the retractable roof is fully latched into the windshield header to avoid personal injury.

1. Remove the folding top side rail assembly. Refer to Folding Top Side Rail Assembly Replacement (Folding Top Side Rail Assembly Replacement) .




2. Using a grease pencil or suitable marking device, mark the location of the capture latch to the side rail assembly.




3. Measure and record the capture latch cable length before removal.




4. Loosen the jam nut (1) on the capture latch cable and remove the cable.




5. Remove the capture latch fasteners.
6. Remove the capture latch from the side rail assembly.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the capture latch into the side rail assembly.
2. Install the capture latch fasteners. Hand tighten only.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Align the capture latch to the alignment marks.

Tighten the fasteners to 12 N.m (106 lb in).





4. Install the capture latch cable to the capture latch.
5. Set the capture latch cable to recorded length.

Tighten the jam nut (1) to 5 N.m (44 lb in).





6. Install the folding top side rail assembly. Refer to Folding Top Side Rail Assembly Replacement (Folding Top Side Rail Assembly Replacement) .
7. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation.
