Folding Top Latch Cable Adjustment - Rear

Adjustment Procedure

1. Cycle the folding top stowage compartment lid open.




2. Stop the cycle once the folding top panels are fully retracted.
3. Remove the upper garnish molding . Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper (Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper) in Interior Trim.
4. Remove the passenger side lock pillar trim. Refer to Trim Replacement - Lock Pillar (Trim Replacement - Lock Pillar) in Interior Trim.
5. Remove the passenger seat. Refer to Seat Replacement (Seat Replacement) in Seats.
6. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
7. Remove the center console bracket fasteners.
8. Disconnect all wiring connectors to the folding top.
9. Lift the center console bracket upward and lay the center console bracket on its side in the passenger compartment.
10. Manually cycle the folding top panels up until they are fully latched into the windshield header.
11. Remove the body rear compartment from the folding top. Refer to Body Accessory Compartment Replacement - Rear (Body Accessory Compartment Replacement - Rear) .
12. Cycle the folding top downward to inspect the operation of the down capture latch.




13. Loosen the down capture latch cable jam nut (1).
14. Adjust the down capture latch in or out 1 mm at a time.
15. Cycle the folding top closed.
16. Cycle the roof stowage compartment lid open.
17. When the roof stowage compartment lid is fully open, inspect the down capture to see if the latch is open. Verify this by grabbing the folding top and pulling upward. If the folding top moves upward freely, the cable is adjusted properly.
18. Repeat the adjustment as necessary.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the body rear compartment to the folding top. Refer to Body Accessory Compartment Replacement - Rear (Body Accessory Compartment Replacement - Rear) .
2. Install the folding top wiring connectors.
3. Install the center console bracket.
4. Install the center console bracket fasteners.
5. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
6. Manually lower the folding top into the stowage compartment area.
7. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation.
8. Install the passenger seat. Refer to Seat Replacement (Seat Replacement) in Seats.
9. Install the passenger side lock pillar trim. Refer to Trim Replacement - Lock Pillar (Trim Replacement - Lock Pillar) in Interior Trim.
10. Install the upper rear garnish molding . Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper (Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper) in Interior Trim.




11. Cycle the folding top closed.
