Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the left and right sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) in Interior Trim.
2. Remove the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to cell Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement) in Interior Trim.
3. Remove the left and right windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.
4. Remove the center instrument panel (I/P) trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center. Instrument Panel (IP) - Trim Panel Replacement - Center




5. Remove the 2 screws retaining the trim plate to the I/P.




6. Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to release the retaining clips.
7. Remove the ambient light sensor. Refer to Ambient Light Sensor Replacement in Lighting Systems.
8. Remove the I/P trim plate from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Position the trim plate to the I/P




2. Install the ambient light sensor. Refer to Ambient Light Sensor Replacement in Lighting Systems.
3. Install the I/P trim plate by engaging the retaining clips.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the 2 I/P trim plate fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

5. Install the center instrument panel (I/P) trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center. Instrument Panel (IP) - Trim Panel Replacement - Center
6. Install the left and right windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.
7. Install the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement) in Interior Trim.
8. Install the left and right sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) in Interior Trim.
