Latch Release Handle Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Lower the endgate.
3. Remove the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the lock cylinder latch plate cover. Refer to Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid) .




5. Remove the latch release handle (1) from the lock cylinder latch plate assembly.




6. Disconnect the rear compartment lid latch release handle from the vehicle.
7. Remove the rear compartment lid latch release cable from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Insert the rear compartment lid latch release cable into the body opening.




2. Install the rear compartment lid latch release cable onto the body.
3. Install the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .




4. Connect the rear compartment lid latch release handle (1) to the lock cylinder latch plate assembly.
5. Pull on the handle to inspect for proper operation.
6. Install the rear compartment lid lock cylinder latch plate cover. Refer to Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid) .
7. Close the endgate.
8. Close the rear compartment lid.
