Door Replacement - Front (Driver Side)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Mirror Replacement - Manual (Mirror Replacement - Manual) or Mirror Replacement - Power (Mirror Replacement - Power Mirror) .
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door. Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door
3. Remove the window outer sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer Service and Repair
4. Remove the door weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the door window channel. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement - Front Door (Window Run Channel Replacement - Front Door) .
6. Remove the door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Front Door (Without Power Locks) (Lock Replacement - Front Door (Without Power Locks))Lock Replacement - Front Door (With Power Locks) (Lock Replacement - Front Door (With Power Locks)) .
7. Remove the door lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door (Door Lock Cylinder Replacement) .
8. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside (Service and Repair) .
9. Remove the door window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .




10. Remove the door check. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) .
11. Remove the door molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Front Door Body Side () in Exterior Trim.
12. Remove the front fender. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front - Left (Fender Replacement - Front - Left) in Body Front End.
13. Support the front side door (2) using a floor jack (1) and piece of wood.
14. Mark the position of the door to the hinges in order to ease the installation process.
15. Remove the 4 bolts which secure the door to the hinges.
16. Position the door away from the door jamb in order to gain the necessary clearance to remove the front side door wiring harness grommet, if equipped.




17. Unclip the plastic retainers which secure the front side door wiring harness (2) to the front side door, if equipped.
18. Release the door wiring harness grommet and unroute the wiring harness (2) from the door, if equipped.
19. Remove any remaining retainers from the front side door.
20. Remove the front side door from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the retainers which were removed from the door.
2. Position the front side door near the door jamb in order to install the front side door wiring harness (2) to the door, if equipped.
3. Route the door wiring harness (2) through the door and seat the grommet, if equipped. Secure the wiring harness to the door with the plastic retainers.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the front side door to the hinges. Align the matchmarks on the hinges in order to aid in the correct adjustment of the door. Secure the door to the hinges with the 4 bolts.

Tighten the front side door hinge bolts to 27 N.m (19 lb ft).

5. Remove the floor jack (1) and the piece of wood from the door (2).
6. Install the front fender. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front - Left (Fender Replacement - Front - Left) in Body Front End.
7. Install the door molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Front Door Body Side () in Exterior Trim.
8. Install the door check. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) .
9. Install the door window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Front Door (Without Power Locks) (Lock Replacement - Front Door (Without Power Locks))Lock Replacement - Front Door (With Power Locks) (Lock Replacement - Front Door (With Power Locks)) .
11. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside (Service and Repair) .
12. Install the door lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door (Door Lock Cylinder Replacement) .
13. Install the door window channel. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement - Front Door (Window Run Channel Replacement - Front Door) .
14. Install the door weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
15. Install the window outer sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer Service and Repair
16. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door. Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door
17. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Mirror Replacement - Manual (Mirror Replacement - Manual) or Mirror Replacement - Power (Mirror Replacement - Power Mirror) .
18. Adjust the front side door striker, as needed. Refer to Door Striker Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair)
