Door Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the window outer sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Rear Door Window Belt Outer (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the door weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the door window channel. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement - Rear Door (Window Run Channel Replacement - Rear Door) .
5. Remove the door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Rear Door (Without Power Locks) (Lock Replacement - Rear Door (Without Power Locks))Lock Replacement - Rear Door (With Power Locks) (Lock Replacement - Rear Door (With Power Locks)) .
6. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Rear Outside (Handle Replacement - Rear Side Door Outside) .
7. Remove the door window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door (Without Power Windows) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Manual)Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door (With Power Windows) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Power) .




8. Remove the rear side door stationary window. Refer to Window Replacement - Rear Door Stationary (Service and Repair) .
9. Remove the door check. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
10. Remove the door molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rear Door Body Side (Molding Replacement - Rear Door Body Side) in Exterior Trim.
11. Support the rear side door (2) using a floor jack (1) and piece of wood.
12. Mark the position of the door to the hinges in order to ease the installation process.
13. Remove the 4 bolts which secure the door to the hinges.
14. Position the door away from the door jamb in order to gain the necessary clearance to remove the rear side door wiring harness grommet, if equipped.




15. Unclip the plastic retainers which secure the rear side door wiring harness (3) to the rear side door, if equipped.
16. Release the door wiring harness grommet and unroute the wiring harness (3) from the door, if equipped.
17. Remove any remaining retainers from the rear side door.
18. Remove the rear side door from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the retainers which were removed from the door.
2. Position the rear side door near the door jamb in order to install the rear side door wiring harness (3) to the door, if equipped.
3. Route the door wiring harness (3) through the door and seat the grommet, if equipped. Secure the wiring harness to the door with the plastic retainers.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the rear side door to the hinges. Align the matchmarks on the hinges in order to aid in the correct adjustment of the door. Secure the door to the hinges with the 4 bolts.

Tighten the rear side door hinge bolts to 27 N.m (19 lb ft).

5. Remove the floor jack (1) and the piece of wood from the door (2).
6. Install the door molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rear Door Body Side (Molding Replacement - Rear Door Body Side) in Exterior Trim.
7. Install the door check. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the rear side door stationary window. Refer to Window Replacement - Rear Door Stationary (Service and Repair) .
9. Install the door window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door (Without Power Windows) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Manual)Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door (With Power Windows) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Power) .
10. Install the door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Rear Door (Without Power Locks) (Lock Replacement - Rear Door (Without Power Locks))Lock Replacement - Rear Door (With Power Locks) (Lock Replacement - Rear Door (With Power Locks)) .
11. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Rear Outside (Handle Replacement - Rear Side Door Outside) .
12. Install the door window channel. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement - Rear Door (Window Run Channel Replacement - Rear Door) .
13. Install the door weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
14. Install the window outer sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Rear Door Window Belt Outer (Service and Repair) .
15. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
16. Adjust the rear side door striker, as needed. Refer to Door Striker Replacement - Rear Door (Door Striker Replacement - Rear Door)
