Brake and Accelerator Pedal Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the instrument panel carrier assembly.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the following components:
- The adjustable pedals motor assembly
- The memory sensor connector
- The pedal position sensor
- The accelerator wiring harness connector




3. Remove the pushrod retaining clip from the brake pedal stud.
4. Remove the stop lamp switch and the pushrod from the brake pedal stud.
5. Remove the adjustable pedals bracket nuts.
6. Remove the brake and accelerator pedal assembly from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the brake and accelerator pedal assembly to the vehicle.

IMPORTANT: The adjustable pedals cable assembly must be installed in its original position and fastened with the bolt and clamp on the top of the bracket. Make sure the cable is not twisted or binding.

2. Install the adjustable pedals bracket nuts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




3. Install the stop lamp switch and the pushrod to the brake pedal stud.
4. Install the pushrod retaining clip to the brake pedal stud.
5. Connect the electrical connectors to the following components:
- The adjustable pedals motor assembly
- The memory sensor connector
- The pedal position sensor
- The accelerator wiring harness connector
6. Install the instrument panel carrier assembly.
