Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Adjustments

TV Cable Adjustment
1.6L and 2.0L Engines
1. Inspect the accelerator cable for proper adjustment.
2. Measure the distance between the tip end of the TV cable adjustment mark and the end of the boot. The distance must be 0.8 - 1.5 mm (0.031 - 0.059 inch).





3. Loosen the Throttle Control (TV) cable locknut (3).
4. Adjust the cable using the locknuts until the measurement is achieved.
5. Tighten the TV cable locknut (3).
6. Measure the distance between the tip end of the TV cable adjustment mark and the end of the boot. Ensure that the distance did not change during the tightening of the locknut.

2.5L Engine
1. Inspect the accelerator cable for proper adjustment.





2. Inspect the TV cable locknut (3) and the adjusting nut.
3. Place the ignition switch in the LOCK position.
4. Ensure the throttle valve is closed.
5. Measure the distance (2) between the tip end and the end of the boot. The distance must be 0.8 - 1.5 mm (0.03 - 0.06 inch).
6. Loosen the TV cable locknut (3), then adjust the cable until the clearance is obtained.
7. Tighten the TV cable locknut.
8. Measure the distance (2) between the tip end of the TV cable and the end of the boot. Ensure that the distance did not change during the tightening of the locknut.
