Vacuum Pump: Service and Repair

^ Tools Required
- J 25034-C Power Steering Pump Pulley Remover
- J 25033-C Power Steering Pump Pulley Installer

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect both of the battery negatives.
2. Remove the drive belt from the drive pulleys.
3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
4. Remove the vacuum line from the vacuum pump.





5. Remove the vacuum pump pulley:
5.1. Attach the J 25034-C to the pulley.
5.2. Remove the pulley from the vacuum pump using the J25034-C.





6. Remove the vacuum pump mounting bolts.
7. Remove the vacuum pump from the generator bracket.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the vacuum pump.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the vacuum pump mounting bolts.





3. Install the vacuum pump pulley on the vacuum pump.
3.1. Attach the J 25033-C to the vacuum pump pulley.
3.2. Install the vacuum pump pulley to the vacuum pump.
3.3. Remove the J 25033-C.





4. Install the vacuum line to the vacuum pump.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the drive belt on the drive pulleys.
7. Connect both of the battery negative cables.
