80. Turbocharger Clean and Inspect

Turbocharger Cleaning and Inspection





1. Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe bolts.
2. Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe and gasket.
3. Clean the mating surfaces for the turbocharger oil return pipe and the turbocharger oil feed hose.
4. Install the turbocharger oil return pipe to the turbocharger with a new gasket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the turbocharger oil return pipe bolts.
- Tighten the turbocharger oil return pipe bolts to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).





6. Clean the turbocharger inlet duct.
7. Clean the turbocharger inlet duct mating surfaces.
8. Inspect the turbocharger inlet duct for cracks.
9. Inspect the turbocharger inlet duct mating surfaces for damage.
10. Replace the turbocharger inlet duct if any damage is found.
