EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the wipers to the full upright position and turn OFF the ignition switch.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Disconnect the EGR valve electrical connector.
4. Remove the Bolt retaining the pipe assembly from the EGR valve and carefully pull the pipe assembly back.
5. Remove the EGR Valve retaining bolts.
6. Remove EGR valve assembly.
7. Remove the gasket.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the EGR Valve with a new gasket to the intake manifold.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Reinstall the Bolts through the EGR valve.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
3. Connect the pipe assembly to the EGR valve.
4. Reinstall the Bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
5. Connect the EGR valve electrical connector.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Lower the wipers to the parked position.
