Blower Motor Resistor Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the right side instrument panel insulator.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor/relay.




3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
4. Loosen both of the forward mounting screws. Do not remove the forward mounting screws. The blower motor resistor/relay opening is slotted because the access is extremely limited.
5. Remove the rearward mounting screw.

IMPORTANT: Be careful when removing the blower motor resistor/relay. The resistor/relay is a ceramic card.




6. Remove the blower motor resistor/relay.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the blower motor resistor/relay card and the attaching screws.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the rearward mounting screw.

Tighten
Tighten the rearward mounting screw to 1.9 N.m (16 lb in).

3. Tighten both forward mounting screws.

Tighten
Tighten the forward mounting screws to 1.9 N.m (16 lb in).




4. Connect the electrical connector from the blower resistor/relay to the blower motor.




5. Connect the electrical connector to the blower motor resistor/relay.
6. Install the right-side instrument panel insulator.
