Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open and suitably support the hood.




2. Reposition the electrical center from the right front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Relay/Fuse Center Replacement.
3. Remove the windshield wiper system module cover. Refer to Wiper Module Cover Replacement.
4. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir on the left front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement.
5. Remove the cruise control module on the left front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Cruise Control Module Replacement.
6. Remove the bolt from the rear hole in the front end sheet metal diagonal brace at the wheelhouse.
7. Remove the bolts/screws from the front of the front end sheet metal diagonal brace at the upper tie bar.
8. Remove the front end sheet metal diagonal brace from the engine compartment.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the front end sheet metal diagonal brace to the engine compartment.
2. Align the rear hole of the front end sheet metal diagonal brace to the hole in the wheelhouse.
3. Align the holes of the front end sheet metal diagonal brace to the holes in the upper tie bar.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the bolts/screws to the front of the front end sheet metal diagonal brace at the upper tie bar.

Tighten the bolt/screw to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

5. Install the bolt to the rear hole in the front end sheet metal diagonal brace at the wheelhouse.

Tighten the bolt to 47 N.m (34 lb ft).

6. Reposition the electrical center to the right front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Relay/Fuse Center Replacement.
7. Install the windshield wiper system module cover. Refer to Wiper Module Cover Replacement.
8. Install the coolant recovery reservoir on the left front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement.
9. Install the cruise control module on the left front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Cruise Control Module Replacement.
10. Close the hood.
