Diagnostic Chart:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The internal fault detection is handled by the Driver Information Display (DID).

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The DID monitors the analog input value once every ignition cycle at power up.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
When the DID does not detect the compass sensor. This may be due to a faulty sensor that is not connected to the DID.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The DTC will be set and stored in non-volatile memory.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ The DTC will become history when a power cycle has been performed and the fault is not detected by the DID.
^ A history DTC will clear after 100 fault free ignition cycles.
^ A scan tool may be used to clear the DTC.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
If this DTC is retrieved as both a Current and History DTC, replace the DID.
