Ignition Coil(s) Replacement (Ignition Coils and Bracket)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE






1. Disconnect the main electrical connector feeding the ignition coils.






2. Disconnect the spark plug wires at the ignition coils.






3. Remove the ignition coil bracket studs from the rocker arm cover.
4. Remove the ignition coil bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE






1. Install the ignition coil and bracket assembly to the valve rocker arm cover.
2. Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent to the threads of the ignition coil and bracket assembly studs.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the ignition coil mounting bracket studs.

Tighten
Tighten the ignition coil bracket mounting studs to 12 N.m (106 lb in).






4. Connect the spark plug wires at the ignition coils.






5. Connect the ignition coil harness connector.
6. Connect the main electrical connector feeding the ignition coils.

Tighten
Tighten the harness nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
