Coolant Heater Cord Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the engine block heater cord electrical connection from the engine block heater.





3. Remove the mounting bolts from the frame (4.3L engines).





4. Remove the mounting bolts from the frame (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines).
5. Remove the engine block heater cord.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the engine block heater cord.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the mounting bolts to the frame (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines).
Tighten the bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).





3. Install the mounting bolts to the frame (4.3L engines).
Tighten the bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
4. Connect the engine block heater cord electrical connection to the engine block heater.
5. Remove the safety stands.
6. Lower the vehicle.
