Front Bumper Replacement (Z-71 Tahoe)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the brush/grille guard.
2. Remove the grille.
3. Disconnect and remove the fog lamp assemblies.




4. Remove the eight bumper bolts securing the bumper to the frame.
5. Remove the bumper bracket bolts and washers.




6. Remove the bumper from the vehicle.
7. Remove the air deflector (8) from the bumper, if equipped.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the fog lamp assemblies.
2. Install the air deflector to the bumper.




3. Install the bumper to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





4. Install the eight bumper bolts securing the bumper to the frame.
5. Install the bumper bolts and the washers to the brace.
6. Align the bumper laterally to the grille area.

Tighten
Tighten the eight bumper bolts to 112 N.m (83 lb ft).

7. Reconnect the fog lamp assemblies electrical connectors.
8. Install the Grille.
9. Install the brush/grille guard.
