Automatic Level Control Sensor and Bracket Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURENOTICE: When you are servicing the automatic level control sensor link, ensure that the sensor link and the sensor arm are not damaged. Ensure the sensor arm and the sensor link are properly oriented. Improper orientation of the sensor arm and the sensor link may cause damage to the automatic level control system or the vehicle.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Disconnect the load leveling height sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the load leveling height sensor link from the rear differential bracket ball stud.
5. Remove the load leveling height sensor bracket assembly to the rear shock and spare tire crossover retaining bolts.
6. Remove the load leveling height,, sensor bracket assembly from the vehicle.
7. Remove load leveling height sensor link from the load leveling height sensor arm ball stud.
8. Remove load leveling height sensor to the bracket bolts.
9. Remove load leveling height sensor from the bracket.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: When you are servicing the automatic level control sensor link, ensure that the sensor link and the sensor arm are not damaged. Ensure the sensor arm and the sensor link are properly oriented. Improper orientation of the sensor arm and the sensor link may cause damage to the automatic level control system or the vehicle.
1. Install the load leveling height sensor to the load leveling sensor bracket.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the load leveling height sensor to the load leveling sensor bracket bolts.
- Tighten the load leveling height sensor to the load leveling sensor bracket bolts to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).
3. Install the load leveling height sensor link to the load leveling height sensor arm ball stud.
4. Install the load leveling height sensor bracket assembly to the vehicle.
5. Install the load leveling height sensor bracket assembly to the rear shock and spare tire crossmembers bolts.
- Tighten the load leveling height sensor bracket to the rear shock and spare tire crossover bolts to 12 Nm (110 inch lbs.).
6. Install the load leveling height sensor link to the rear differential bracket ball stud.
7. Connect the load leveling height sensor electrical connector.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Connect the battery negative cable.
