Sliding Door Weatherstrip: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove all the interior trim in order to access the weatherstrip.
2. Pull the weatherstrip from the body flange, starting at the upper right corner.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Align the weatherstrip so that the seam, or the but joint, is in the center of the rocker panel.
2. Align the white dot and install the weatherstrip at the upper left corner.
3. Seat the weatherstrip onto the body flange approximately 152 mm (6 in) from the corner.
4. Drape the weatherstrip and align the white dot to the upper right corner.
5. Seat the weatherstrip onto the body flange approximately 152 mm (6 in) from the corner.
6. Install the weatherstrip to the lower right corner.
7. Seat the weatherstrip onto the body flange approximately 152 mm (6 in) from the corner.
8. Install the weatherstrip to the lower left corner.
9. Seat the weatherstrip onto the body flange approximately 152 mm (6 in) from the corner.
10. Install the weatherstrip to the body flange at the horizontal and vertical surfaces.
11. Ensure that the top of the solid plug (inside the weatherstrip) is even with the front striker hole.
12. Use a rubber mallet in order to gently tap the thick flange areas and each corner in order to ensure the proper weatherstrip seating.
