NVG 233-NP1 2 Speed Automatic 4WD Transfer Case

Circuit Description
The Automatic 4WD Transfer Case (ATC) Control Module senses rear to front slip, a difference of rear to front wheel speed, attempts to correct the difference by turning on the motor, internal to the Transfer Case, to apply torque to the front wheels.

Conditions for Setting the DTC
The Automatic 4WD Transfer Case (ATC) Control Module is unable to correct sensed slip for 10 consecutive seconds.

Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC
- A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present.
- History and current DTCs can be cleared using a scan tool.

Possible Causes
Internal mechanical malfunction in the Transfer Case, internal Automatic 4WD Transfer Case (ATC) Control Module malfunction, shorted motor coil, or a mechanical malfunction in the front axle.
