C0035
DTC C0035 Rear Speed Signal Circuit Open Or Grounded (4.3L Engines Only):
Vehicle Speed Sensors Schematic:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The rear wheel speed signal originates from the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) which is connected to the Vehicle Control Module (VCM). The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) receives the rear wheel speed signal from the VCM.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING DTC
EBCM not seeing the correct voltage level from the VCM at start-up.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) SETS
^ ANTILOCK indicator lamp is illuminated
^ ABS is disabled
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
A fault in circuit 1827 can cause this DTC to set.
If the voltage readings are low or varying, the battery, charging system, or intermittent connections could be the cause. Check these areas before replacing any components.
DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to the numbers on the diagnostic chart.
1. Measure the voltage at terminal E of the EBCM.
3. Check for an open in circuit 1827.
5. Check for a short to ground in circuit 1827.
