Disassembly and Assembly

DISASSEMBLE

NOTE: Do not remove the pick up screen and pipe. They are only serviced as part of the oil pump.

1. Remove the oil pump drive shaft and the retainer.
2. Remove the oil pump body screws.
3. Remove the oil pump body cover.

NOTE: Mark the gear teeth so the pump can be installed with the same gear teeth Indexed.

4. Remove the drive gear and shaft.
5. Remove the idler gear.
6. Remove the pressure relief valve spring retaining pin.
7. Remove the pressure relief valve spring.
8. Remove the pressure relief valve.

ASSEMBLE
1. Install the pressure relief valve.
2. Install the pressure relief valve spring.
3. Install the pressure relief valve spring retaining pin.
4. Install the drive gear and shaft.
5. Install the idler gear.
6. Install the oil pump body cover.
7. Install the oil pump body screws.
^ Tighten the oil pump body screws to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
8. Install the oil pump drive shaft and the retainer.
9. Turn the drive shaft by hand to check for smooth operation.
