Assemble
UPPER1. Install the throttle body studs.
^ Tighten the studs to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
2. Install the throttle body gasket.
3. Install the throttle body.
4. Install the throttle body nuts.
^ Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
5. Install the new Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) gasket.
6. Install the linear EGR valve.
7. Install the EGR valve bolts.
(1) Tighten the bolts the first time to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) each.
(2) Tighten the bolts a final time to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.) each.
LOWER
NOTE: Lubricate the. injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil and Install on the spray tip end of each injector.
1. Install the fuel rail assembly in intake manifold. Tilt the rail assembly to Install the injectors.
2. Install the fuel rail attaching bolts and stud
^ Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)
^ Tighten the stud to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
3. Install the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor retainer and nut to the lower intake manifold.
^ Tighten the nut to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
NOTE: Do not Install thermostat without rubber O-ring seal. Omitting rubber O-ring seal may result in poor engine warm-up and reduced heater performance.
4. Install the thermostat, coolant housing, and bolts to the lower intake manifold.
^ Tighten the bolts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the coolant temperature sensor to the lower intake manifold.
^ Tighten the bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
