1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Remove serpentine belt and tensioner, then power steering pump.
4. Raise vehicle, then remove inner splash panel.
5. Remove torsional dampener, then starter motor.
6. Place a suitable jack under the transaxle to engine mount, then remove engine mount bolts and mount, Figs. 1 and 5.
7. Raise engine, then remove cover bolts.
8. Remove oil pan, then radiator hose at the water pump.
9. Remove bypass hose, coolant overflow hose and heater coolant hose at cooling system fill pipe.
10. Remove upper front cover bolts, then serpentine belt pulley and front cover.
11. Reverse procedure to install, apply sealer No. 1052080, or equivalent, to sealing surface of front cover.
