DTC 83
DTC 83:
TCC Circuit:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:
The PCM/TCM continually monitors each circuit connected to the "quad-driver" for either low or high voltage on the commanded state of the device connected. DTC 83 will set if the PCM/TCM detects an inappropriate reading on the TCC circuit. If the TCC duty cycle is 0, but voltage on the TCC circuit drops as if the solenoid were applied, DTC 83 will set. The TCC solenoid has large current draw and is connected to two terminals of a single "quad-driver."
TEST DESCRIPTION:
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. This test checks for low resistance in the TCC solenoid or internal transmission harness. The test also determines which circuit triggered the fault.
2. This test will check for voltage to the TCC solenoid.
3. This test will check for a short to ground on CKT 422.
4. This test will check if the PCM/TCM is commanding the TCC solenoid "ON."
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS:
Be sure to check all connections, especially those at the transmission pass-thru connector.
If they are OK, - Intermittent Malfunctions
