Wastegate Actuator: Service and Repair

Actuator Assembly Mounting:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT:
1. E-clip retainer from the waste gate lever pin. (Access may be improved by removing the turbocharger heat shield).
2. Two waste gate bracket mounting bolts
3. Waste actuator


INSTALL OR CONNECT:
1. Position waste gate actuator assembly to turbocharger. Place shaft pin into lever hole.
2. Two mounting bolts thru the waste gate bracket. Using sealant on bolt threads tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft lbs)
3. New E-clip on shaft pin.
4. Heat shield (if removed). Use Loctite on the heat shield bolts and tighten to 6 Nm (56 in lbs)
