Clean (Figure 33)

The gasket material from the machined mating surface with liquid gasket remover.

Inspect (Figure 33)

^ Anti-rotation plate for wear or distortion with a straight edge.
^ The parts that compose the shift lever housing assembly (136) are serviceable as an assembly only Replace the assembly for any shift lever rattle/buzz.
^ Boot (130) for cracks, tears, or distortion. Replace the boot if any of these conditions exist.
^ Machined mating surface for flatness. Check with a straight edge.
