Compressor/Pump: Description and Operation

This assembly is a single-piston air pump powered by a 12 volt DC permanent magnet motor. The compressor head casting contains intake and exhaust valves plus a solenoid-operated exhaust valve which releases air from the system when energized. The compressor is mounted under the body on the rear left side of the vehicle, Fig. 1.
