Parking/Turn Signal Bulb - Repeated Burn Out

Subject: REPEAT PARK/TURN BULB BURN OUT


Model and Year: 1990 LUMINA EURO
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

Condition:
Repeat front park/turn bulb burn-out

Cause:
Excessive lamp housing vibration

Correction:
1. Open Hood.

2. Remove grille/lamp assembly from vehicle and disconnect bulb socket from lamp housing.

3. Remove lamp housing from grille.



4. Apply 1/2 inch (12 mm) wide 2-sided foam tape such as 3M Scotch-Mount Super Automotive Attachment Tape (3M # 06382) or equivalent to the lamp retaining tab on the lower edge of the lamp. The tape should start on the front side of the tab and wrap around to the back side as shown in Figure 1.

5. Reverse steps 1 - 3 to reinstall the lamp and grille.

6. Repeat for other side.
